COUNSELING FROM A DISTANCE

This website was designed in partnership with the California Association of School Counselors and the Wisconsin School Counselors Association. This multidisciplinary team of over 50 school administrators and counselors organized to provide a platform where information can be consolidated into a one-stop website to address massive school closures and community-wide health, mental health and economic trauma.  Information and links to resources were collected to assist educators, school-based mental health service providers, caregivers and PreK-12th grade students.

UNANIMOUS PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION (ACR) 29

National School Counseling Week is recognized in California with ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION (ACR 131).  Introduced by Assembly Member Muratsuchi (District 66)

UNANIMOUS PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION (ACR) 29

A remarkable achievement during Student Mental Health Week was the unanimous passage of Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 29 (Quirk-Silva). This resolution, sponsored by Assemblymember Quirk-Silva and co-sponsored by all Assembly Legislators, underscored the importance of prioritizing student mental health in educational institutions. ACR 29 served as a catalyst for change, encouraging further legislative action and funding towards mental health resources for students. The support from Senators was equally memorable as captured in the short video below from Senator Portantino.
